The international classification of diseases (ICD) defines the universe of diseases, disorders, injuries and other health conditions listed in a comprehensive, hierarchical fashion that allows for storage, retrieval, analysis, sharing and comparing of health data. The United States adopted the 10th version (ICD-10) in 2015.
CPC Pathology requires an ordering diagnosis in order to bill Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance for services performed for our clients. This ordering diagnosis can be in the form of a written clinical diagnosis or an ICD-10 code. We have attached a template that may assist you in coding in an ICD-10 format.
